Secrets of the Royal Bed Chamber
‘Secrets of the Royal Bedchamber’ explores both why and how the bedchamber became the most important and public destination in the Royal Palace. The exhibition showcased the largest collection of state beds from the 17th and 18th century Royal Court.
The scheme’s contemporary interpretation of Baroque design utilises principles of reflection, embellishment and symmetry. Working within the restrictions of a Grade I listed building, we developed a large free-standing signage system to complement the impressive scale of the rooms.
Rich colours were used to aid navigation through the monochrome exhibition, while a combination of materials and unusual production processes, echoed the lavish design of the period. Exhibition design was by Universal Design Studio.
