This first edition celebrates the fundamentally human nature of architectural practice. Whether discussing the lived experience of construction on site, interactions between architects and artists, or the enduring value of craft and bespoke manufacture, the 12 sections are grounded in people and process. Though varying in topic, with examples ranging from conceptual to completed, each article offers clues as to how design makes the abstract tangible, the plan a reality. They remind us that while tools and contexts may change, the architect’s role in shaping inclusive, adaptive, and responsible environments remains as vital as ever – serving as a prompt for dialogue, reflection, and exchange.

This commitment to material thinking and making extends beyond the editorial content to the publication itself. Emphasis is placed on materiality and production – printed on a combination of matt and gloss stocks and bound with a sewn eight-page cover. High-definition stochastic screening, incorporating metallic and neon inks as additional colour channels, is used to elevate and enrich the image content.

The journal is presented in a bespoke postal box, custom-sealed with the recipient’s details – extending the design experience from cover to delivery.
